South Ayrshire Council has issued a warning to locals in Maybole not to use the new skate park facilities at the Boag.
The facility, which is set to be used by skaters, scooter users and BMX riders, has not yet been completed and council officials say it should not be used.
More than £224,000 is being spent on the project to ensure the new wheeled zone is one of the best in the country.
A council spokesperson said: "Please be aware that the new skatepark at the Boag in Maybole has not been completed and should not be used by the public.
"The skatepark remains fenced off. We will let you know when it opens."
Skatepark specialists, Bendcrete, are using sprayed flexible concrete to ensure they can incorporate all the ramps and slopes suggested during the engagement with the user groups.
The project is being jointly funded by South Ayrshire Council's Place Based Investment Fund with contribution from North Carrick Community Benefit Company (NCCBC).
